Hilltop Estates | Arizona Residential Photographer

After working on countless residential shoots, at times I wonder if I’ve seen it all when it comes to cutting-edge design. While I’m constantly amazed by how unique a home can look, working on Hilltop Estates blew everything I knew about residential architecture and interior design out of the water.

This home has been on my Arizona residential photography shoot list after a good family friend finished building it. From the very moment I walked in, I told my wife, Colleen, I just have to take photos of this stunning place!

The moment finally arrived and I couldn’t be happier to share the final results of Hilltop Estates with you all!

How I Planned This Arizona Residential Photography Shoot

The most important aspect of this shoot to consider was the amount of time I had available. While I was given free reign of the house for an entire day, I knew it was essential to use time efficiently to capture all the details in good lighting.

Speaking of good lighting- working with the Arizona sunset has been a dream of mine for ages! The outdoor areas of the home are stunning, so I needed to work quickly inside to make sure I captured all the amenities in the perfect mood lighting.

With a plan in place, I was thrilled to roll my sleeves and get this shoot started!

Showcasing The INTERIOR DESIGN Details

Every room of Hilltop Estates was thoughtfully designed, so it was important for me to make sure all the hard work was showcased. From the wine cellar to the breezeway, these details were endless!

Black And White Tile Framing Exterior Entryway Into Home

It was so hard to choose a few photos that emphasize these details the most, but I think the intricate tile design framing the exterior doors were my favorite. The natural brick texture combined with the slightly shiny tile created the most eye-catching look. I chose to shoot this area slightly closer than normal, with it completely centered to look into the home. It is such a stunning detail!

Highlighting The Primary Bathroom Oasis

Black And White Primary Bathroom With Walk-In Shower And Soaking Tub

I have never fallen in love with a space quite as quickly as this primary bathroom oasis. The space itself was huge, but looked even larger with the glass shower showing the beautiful tub and window. I wanted to make sure this was shot at a wide-angle and completely centered to create a mirrored effect on both sides.

As for a more detailed shot, I wanted to use a slightly dimmer light to emphasize the richness of the kitchen cabinets combined with the gold fixtures. I’ve never seen a space so luxurious!

Displaying The Modern Build

Hilltop Estates was designed with a modern build in mind, but finished with softer accents to make the space feel like a home. Nothing showed this combination of contrast more than the living room.

Modern Home Design Softened By Warm Living Room Accents And Light Wood Wall Detail

I had the cushy furniture act as the focal point of the shot, but wanted the light wood and black window frames to act as reminders of the modern twists. The bright white walls made this shoot lighting super easy inside, so it was a breeze to work with all types of sun. As an Arizona residential photographer, this is not always the case!

Utilizing The Stunning Arizona Sunset

The moment I’d been waiting for finally arrived! Since starting working as an Arizona residential photographer, it’s been my dream to capture the beautiful sunset within one of my projects. Hilltop Estates has a resort-like backyard, so I couldn’t think of anything more perfect to set the ambiance than dusk.

The fireplace and cozy outdoor furniture provided the perfect foreground, with the Arizona purple mountains and cacti acting as a landscape. I shot slightly off center to emphasize the space available, making sure the white walls and black door were included.
