Interior Home Remodel by ASR Design Studio | Residential Photography

I absolutely love my job as a residential interior photographer in San Diego! Instead of watching remodels unfold on an HGTV rerun, I get to see them happen live and in person, and I get to observe all of the incredible design details up close. I've seen a lot of spectacular remodels, but I especially loved the work done on Project Country Trails by ASR Design Studios. Here, the talented designers completely transformed an outdated house into a brilliantly warm, cozy, and inviting home with vibrant colors and an eclectic style.

Bright pops of color, unique touches, clean lines, and natural lighting made this shoot a lot of fun. My goal for these interior photographs is to show the world how talented ASR Design Studio is and to demonstrate their team's incredible capabilities.

How I Planned Out This RESIDENTIAL interior Photography ShooT

Residential photography can be tricky because there are so many areas to cover, each with its own purpose and function. As I walked through this particular remodel, the large, spacious, and beautifully designed kitchen and dining area instantly drew me in. Because these spaces are typically the heart and soul of any home, it made perfect sense for me to focus my lens on the kitchen.

THE OPEN KITCHEN CONCEPT

You'll find a beautiful open kitchen concept just off the home's warm and inviting front entry. I wanted to capture the clean, appealing white lines created by marbled countertops and cabinets as they were engulfed with natural sunlight.

I worked to emphasize how the clean white worked beautifully with the natural wood flooring and glimmers of teal tile to create a beachy but homey vibe. I also chose specific angles to make the connection between the kitchen, dining area and family room. This area was probably my favorite part of the remodel and so my goal was to highlight the appeal of the space.

Country Style with a Modern Twist

I wanted to spotlight ASR Design Studio's ability to create the warm, welcoming feeling of a traditional country home with modern design elements that prevent the space from feeling dated. I made sure to capture the plants, well-placed nick-nacks, and strategically chosen pieces of homey art as they contrasted against clean geometry and modern appliances.

Haley’s Helpful Hint: Focus on the color palette. In many interior residential photography shoots, you'll encounter accent walls and colors that contrast beautifully against one another. It's imperative that you capture these colors correctly for maximum impact. Editing can help, but it only goes so far. Getting things just right during the photography phase is critical to shooting excellent residential photos.
